David L. Hamill concentrates his practice in real estate, zoning and land use, and civil litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Hamill served as in-house counsel at a major real estate company, Solil Management LLC, in New York City. As in-house counsel for over a decade, Mr. Hamill gained extensive experience, handling a wide variety of matters, including complex commercial, business, real estate, construction, landlord/tenant, appellate, administrative, employment, municipal, corporate and partnership litigation. Mr. Hamill is experienced in all stages of litigation, from drafting pleadings and conducting discovery through the preparation and argument of procedural and substantive motions, as well as hearings and appeals. He has successfully handled declaratory judgment actions, breach of contract actions, mechanic’s lien foreclosure cases, landlord/tenant proceedings, Yellowstone proceedings, adverse possession, easement and real property disputes, RPAPL § 881 proceedings, Article 78 proceedings, and administrative proceedings, hearings and appeals before the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (“DHCR”), New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (“OATH”) and Environmental Control Board (“ECB”). In addition, Mr. Hamill negotiated, drafted and regularly updated and revised residential and commercial lease agreements, riders, addenda, amendments, modifications, renewals and extensions, guaranty agreements, license agreements, broker agreements, construction agreements, and service agreements.

Mr. Hamill earned a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University, magna cum laude, and a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law, where he was awarded a Dean’s Merit Scholarship. While attending law school, Mr. Hamill served as Executive Proof Editor of the St. John’s Journal of Civil Rights and Economic Development, and published a scholarly Note titled “The Privacy of Death on the Internet: A Legitimate Matter of Public Concern or Morbid Curiosity?” J. Civ. Rights & Econ. Dev. (Spring 2010 ed.). While earning his law degree, Mr. Hamill worked as a summer and fall associate at CLK/HP Properties, Inc. in Woodbury, NY, assisting its in-house counsel on various residential and commercial leasing and lending matters. Mr. Hamill also interned at the Queens County District Attorney’s Office in the Economic Crimes Bureau, and worked as a summer law clerk at the Southampton Town Justice Court.

Mr. Hamill is admitted to practice in New York State.
